The Open Ocean Trustee Implementation Group held an interactive webinar on May 6, 2025, to share information about four restoration projects for Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) injured by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of America. More than 100 people joined the webinar.

During the webinar, project managers and subject matter experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Department of the Interior shared project accomplishments from the 2024 field season and activities planned for 2025. Additionally, they answered audience questions and showed participants how to access publicly available project data and reports. The Trustees would like to thank the University of Rhode Island Inner Space Center for their technical support during this webinar.
