Along with the annual meeting, Trustees will hold an outreach and education workshop, and we are encouraging community members and organizations to attend both.
Annual Public Meeting, July 19
The Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment Trustee Council will hold its third annual public meeting on July 19, 2018 in Long Beach, Mississippi. During this meeting, we will present updates on the progress made by the Trustee Council and each of the Trustee Implementation Groups; Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Open Ocean, and Region-wide. This meeting will also serve as the annual public meeting for the Region-wide Trustee Implementation Group.

We encourage your attendance at the open house where staff will be available for discussions and questions and look forward to seeing you at the public meeting. If you are unable to attend the public meeting, we will update the Gulf Spill Restoration website and send a follow-up email-blast when the presentations and transcripts are available. Last year’s annual public meeting information was made available shortly after the November 2017 meeting.
Outreach and Education Workshop, July 18
In addition to the annual public meeting this year, we will hold a two-part education and outreach workshop on the evening of July 18 to help community members and organizations learn more about:
- Basics of the Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment process and how it compares to other Gulf of Mexico restoration efforts.
- How to effectively propose restoration project ideas.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for dialogue to promote effective engagement. We encourage community members and organizations familiar with Gulf restoration, and those that want to get involved, to attend. The workshop will be held on July 18, 2018 at the Marriott Courtyard Gulfport, 1600 E. Beach Blvd., Gulfport, Mississippi, 39501. We will start at 5:30 PM with a half-hour meet and greet prior to presentations and question and answer sessions.
