On May 4, 2016 the Trustees approved Standard Operating Procedures for the long-term management, implementation, and administration of settlement funds for natural resource restoration. These procedures set the stage for a completely new phase of Gulf of Mexico restoration. The procedures are based on the Final Programmatic Damage Assessment and Restoration Plan and Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement.

The document addresses topics related to the Trustee Council and Trustee Implementation Groups, such as:

  • structure and management
  • decision-making
  • funding
  • project planning, management, monitoring, and reporting
  • transparency and public engagement
  • accounting

The final document is posted here and on the Trustees’ administrative record page.
