Welcome to the Open Ocean Trustee Implementation Group

The Open Ocean Trustee Implementation Group is excited to work on projects that will benefit species that travel over wide geographic ranges, like bluefin tuna. We’ll also focus on projects to restore deep sea and low-light communities at the bottom of the Gulf. Since some of these species only spend part of their life in the Gulf of Mexico, we might use funds for restoration projects outside the Gulf.

We will develop project-specific restoration plans consistent with the programmatic restoration plan. The public will also have the opportunity to review and comment on these proposed plans, and to submit restoration project ideas.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to working together to restore the Gulf of Mexico.
