The Florida Trustee Implementation Group is excited for the opportunity to restore water quality and habitats in the Florida Restoration Area. We look forward to restoring and protecting coastal and marine species such as sea turtles, birds, oysters, and marine mammals. We will restore coastal habitats and present additional recreational opportunities for Floridians and those who visit our great state.
The Florida and federal Trustees will work together to restore the natural resources that were diminished by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Building off of the comprehensive restoration plan, we will develop project-specific restoration plans. The public will be able to review and comment on these proposed project-specific restoration plans, as well as submit project ideas. Upon approval, implementation and monitoring of the selected projects will begin.
